my new hobby

Thanks to Craig Porter for the lessons in lake surfing. Not too graceful, but a whole lot of fun!

Wow that's cool. I have a pastor who surfs!
That looks really fun...except for the falling down part ;)

David, this is the first time I've ever seen this done. At first, I honestly thought it was just some digital special effects.

How DID you get started in the water?

Brandon,

It's all about the boat. The passenger-side rear wells were weighted down with water sacks (~700-800 lbs) which pushed the boat into the water creating a larger-than-usual wake. You start out in the water with your feet resting on the inside edge of a surf board and then, once you're pulled up (like on a wake board), you turn the nose of the board forward, cross to the outside of the wake and then pull yourself toward the boat little-by-little until you find the sweet spot to ride in. Then, you throw the rope into the back of the boat. Pretty fun. Thanks to my friend, Craig Porter--the surf master

That's crazy, man. I still don't see how you got out of the water without being strapped to the board...but I believe you. Is there anyway we could see a David Daniels face plant compilation? That would be equally entertaining.

You're sick man, just sick. It's all fun and games until the pastor gets hurt...

I don't know that I would want to see you get hurt...maybe just to see you extravagantly waterlogged. I posted the clip on my blog and tried to direct some traffic over here to doxologies.

Trust me....I've had my share of being waterlgged while trying! Thanks for the props on the Blog.
